PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Teach, conduct research and community engagement to Honours, Masters and Doctoral Students. The incumbent will also manage the Research entity Food Safety and Security as Director.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
TEACHING:
- Classroom work (teach, assess, develop teaching material).
RESEARCH:
- Laboratory and Field research, Supervision of M and D students.
- Publishing.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT:
- Engaged community services.
MANAGEMENT:
- Manage resources (finance, laboratories and equipments), staff, and stakeholder relations.
Minimum requirements
- A PhD in a relevant discipline (NQF level 10).
- A minimum of six (6) years’ experience in higher education or industry as a Professor/Senior Academic/Senior Researcher.
- Management experience.
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
- Computer
- Laboratory analytical skills.
- Use of complex analytical equipment.
- Academic writing

REMUNERATION:
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
