Job description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Coordinate and oversee student registrations and maintenance of student records within the department as well as staff and facilities of registration and student records department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Coordinate the maintenance process of student records.
  • Coordinate staff and infrastructure of Undergraduate and Honours Records Department
  • Plan and coordinate registration / amendment process regarding Undergraduate and Honours students, VC
  • Liaison / coordination with external / internal role players (AR & ARE).
  • Coordinate Academic Records inquiries.
  • Ad Hoc Directives.
  • Occupational Health and Safety (OHS).

Minimum requirements

  • Relevant Bachelors degree on (NQF 7)
  • Three years’ experience in registrations and student recordkeeping process and systems at tertiary institutions.
  • Three years’ experience working in a university environment and knowledge of university processes.

KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
  • Knowledge and experience in staff- and organisational management.
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office, VSS system, A-Rules).
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Organisational skills with attention to detail, accuracy, and multi-tasking.
  • Leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Language proficiency to function optimally in various multilingual environment of the NWU.
 
KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
  • Must be able to function under pressure
  • Must be able to work in a group environment
  • Requires good interpersonal- and communication skills
