PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The purpose of this position is to provide efficient work regarding all Setswana translations and interpreting.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Promoting Setswana in particular African languages generally by translation, interpreting, editing and language advisory services in Setswana.
2. Providing quality Setswana Translation, interpreting, editing services.
3. Setswana Terminology Development.
4. Editing of Setswana documents.
Minimum requirements
· A relevant Degree in Setswana, African Language, Translations, Linguistics, and Interpreting
· A minimum of 2 years’ experience
RECOMMENDATIONS:
· Accreditation with the South African Translators' Institute (SATI).
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
· Knowledge and experience of translation from English to Setswana
· Knowledge and experience of translation from Setswana to English.
· Knowledge and experience of editing Setswana documents.
· Knowledge and experience of interpreting from English into Setswana
BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
· Competency in Setswana
· Competency in English.
· Knowledge and experience in translation, interpreting and editing.
· Good interpersonal relationships.
· Effective time management.
REMUNERATION:
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
