Job description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. RESEARCH · Drive and manage research productivity, output, and quality · Create an enabling research environment and guide innovation initiatives · Recommend and guide recommended academic development and capacity building to improve research outputs · Conduct own research and publication and maintain academic scholarship. · Support engaged research in the faculty.
2. TEACHING AND LEARNING · Teach courses as required · Quality assurance and management of teaching outputs · Drive and manage teaching and learning productivity, output and quality aligned to the Teaching and Learning Plan
3. COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT · Participate in community engagement activities 4. MANAGEMENT · Provide value-based leadership in transformation of the school

Minimum requirements
PhD in Chemistry
· Appropriate teaching & learning experience (undergraduate and postgraduate) in line with the position
· Appropriate experience of post-graduate supervision and training in line with the position
· Appropriate research experience in line with the position
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
