KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide high-quality postgraduate teaching in Human Resource Management and related areas and contribute to curriculum development, review and innovative delivery across the Business School's academic and executive education offerings.
- Supervise postgraduate research in Human Resource Management, people management and related business and management fields and contribute to postgraduate research development.
- Conduct relevant and rigorous research and publish scholarly work in Human Resource Management and related fields, while participating in collaborative research and contributing to the research profile of the Business School.
- Participate in professional, organisational and societal engagement and contribute to executive education, professional networks and emerging thought leadership on contemporary people and workplace challenges.
Minimum requirements
- PhD (NQF10) in Human Resource Management, Human Resource Development, Industrial/Organisational Psychology or a closely related field, with demonstrated academic expertise relevant to Human Resource Management.
- Three (3) years’ experience of high-quality teaching in Human Resource Management or related business disciplines at postgraduate level, preferably within a Business School environment.
- Three (3) industry experience or professional engagement HRM, people management, organisational development, consulting, executive education or related organisational practice.
- Experience in curriculum, module or learning-material development and review.
- Demonstrated research capability with a developing record of publication in recognised peer-reviewed academic outlets in Human Resource Management or related fields.
- Experience in postgraduate research supervision or co-supervision, with evidence of capacity to develop as an independent postgraduate supervisor.
- Membership or registration with a recognised academic or professional body relevant to Human Resource Management, people management or organisational development.
- Demonstrated strength in postgraduate teaching and learning, including blended learning.
- Sound theoretical and applied knowledge of Human Resource Management, with expertise in one or more areas such as strategic human resource management, organisational behaviour, talent management, employee relations, leadership, organisational change, workforce development or related fields.
- Demonstrated research, publication and postgraduate supervision capability.
- Curriculum development and assessment capability.
- Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and collaborative environments.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Initiative and academic leadership in teaching, research and engagement.
- Effective time management and delivery against agreed objectives.
- Ability to build constructive professional relationships.

Remunerations: The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
