A Postdoctoral fellowship is available at The Research Focus Area: Ancient Texts, Context and Reception within the Faculty of Theology of the North-West University. The successful postdoctoral fellow will be allocated an experienced Mentor from the Focus Area.
The Research Focus Area strives to contribute to Research and Innovation by producing cutting edge research outputs to the Research field of ancient texts. For more information on the FA, follow the link to our webpage:

Objectives of the Postdoctoral fellowship program:
Ø Participate fully in the research program of the Focus Area.
Ø Collaborate with other researchers working in the team, thereby stimulating new and original ideas within the team.
Ø (Co)Supervise students working in the research field, in collaboration with a permanent NWU Staff member.
Minimum requirements
Eligibility:
v A doctoral degree, obtained within 5 years before the appointment as a postdoctoral fellow, is mandatory.
v The candidate must have the intention to pursue a full-time academic career at a university.
v The maximum age is 45.
Duration of the fellowship:
The fellowship is available for an initial period of 1 year. Renewal may be considered for up to 3 years, contingent upon available funding; satisfactory performance, as agreed with the fellowship mentor/ supervisor; and productive integration into the subprogramme.
Value of the fellowship:
R320,000.00 / annum (non-taxable)
R50,000.00,/ annum will be made available for research related running costs.
R20,000.00 once-off relocation allowance
