Job description
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The incumbent should be available to play a leading role lecturing within the School of Chemical and Minerals Engineering as well as research conducted under the Centre for Excellence in Carbon based fuels.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaching/Learning
- Lecture typical chemical Engineering Modules and Postgraduate supervision.
Research
- Research is conducted on alternative energy to ensure continuation of the research currently being conducted.
Implementation/Commercialization
- Ensure the commercial implementation of research results with subsequent involvement in community projects.
Management
- Involvement in the management of the school.
Minimum requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- A PhD degree in Engineering (NQF 10).
- A minimum of 10 year’s teaching and research experience.
- Membership with a Professional Society of relevance.
- NRF rateable within 3 years.
ADDED ADVANTAGE:
- ECSA Professional Registration.
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
- Competent in Chemical Engineering subjects for teaching/learning purposes.
- Competent in Chemical Engineering computer packages such as ASPEN, Excel.
- Competent in Chemical Engineering research in either Chemical or Minerals Engineering.
KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
- Must be able to interact with undergraduate as well as postgraduate students.
