PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To fill a vacancy in the School of Professional Studies for the subject group, Comparative and International Education.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate modules.
- Teaching and supervision: Postgraduate M & PhD students.
- Study guide and material development.
- Personal research and support of research entity.
- Initiating and planning of strategic research initiatives.
- Community service and social responsiveness.
Minimum requirements
- A PhD (NQF 10) in Comparative and International Education.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the higher education environment.
- Author/co-author of at least 5 research articles in accredited journals since 2020.
- Involvement in supervision of at least 5 Master’s (to completion) and 1 doctoral students (to completion).
- Have a proven record of presenting/attending relevant national and international conferences.
ADDED ADVANTAGES & PREFERENCES:
- Leader of funded research projects.
- Involvement in NRF – funded research projects.
KEY FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
- Demonstration of initiative and academic leadership.
- Research skills, interpersonal skills/communication, and computer literacy.
KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
- Team worker.
- Good interpersonal skills.
REMUNERATION: The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
