KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Junior Lecturer:
- Teaching-learning of Electrical Technology modules and all related organisational and management tasks which include related practical work.
Minimum requirements
- A B.Ed. Honours degree or Hons degree (NQF level 8) with a focus on Electrical Technology or related field.
- Any relevant education qualification.
- A minimum of 1 year Electrical Technology experience in secondary education or relevant related field.
RECOMMENDATIONS / ADDED ADVANTAGES:
- A master’s degree (NQF level 9) in Electrical Technology or related field.
- Accreditations with the South African Council for Educators (SACE).
- A minimum of 2 years’ teaching-learning experience in a tertiary institution in Mechanical Technology Education or related field.
KEY FUNCTIONAL / TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
- Capable to provide students with knowledge and practical skills regarding all elements related to Electrical Technology education in the South African context, with the primary focus on FET phase Electrical, Electronic and Digital Technology.
- Experience and use of the FET Phase CAPS Electrical Technology (Electrical, Electronic and Digital).
- Experience with regards to the use and maintenance of equipment in the Electrical Technology field.
KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
- Continuous Learning (Improve qualifications, knowledge and skills).
- Collaborating with others (Be part of the Technology Subject Group).
- Should be able to adapt to different modes of teaching (Online, Distance, contact classes).
REMUNERATION:
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
