Job description
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The students are being transported safely by the drivers. The drivers are known to students, and they are familiar with all the routes and clinical
facilities where they are transporting nursing students for clinical placements. The school of nursing is expected by the regulatory body (South African
Nursing Council) to transport students safely for Work Integrated Learning at clinical facilities. The position is funded from the Clinical Training Grant.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Transporting students to clinical areas
- Act as a driver to transport students to clinical facilities.
- Monitoring of student attendance.
- Update transport routes as needed.
- Work with additional drivers in student management.
- Work flexi hours (40 Hours).
- On-call for last-minute trips.
- Other duties as assigned.
Administrative duties
- Monitoring of weekly and monthly road trips.
- Compiling a report of kilometers travelled per day, per week and month.
- Complete the attendance register of students for road trips.
- Check and keep records on vehicle logbooks.
- Keep a record of hours worked per week.
Ad hoc tasks
- Minimum requirements
- Assist with driving in SONS, where necessary.
- Support with General Administrative as delegated by line manager regarding SONS.
Minimum requirements
- Grade 12 (NQF level 4).
- A valid drivers’ license (Code 10/C1).
- A valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
- A minimum of two (2) years ‘ driving experience.
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
- Public driving experience.
- Effective and skilful management of transport.
- Effective and efficient handling of transport bookings enquiries.
- Computer skills.
- Report writing.
- BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES
- Communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Good conduct.
