Job description
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Lecturer will make significant contributions to the teaching and learning areas of both undergraduate and postgraduate Accounting Education and Economics Education programs at the Mahikeng Campus.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Teaching and Learning:
- Teaching and learning processes for the distance as well as the on-campus mode of delivery.
2. Research:
- Completion of PhD.
3. Community Engagement:
- Engage in community outreach/implementation of expertise.
4. Administration:
- Performing general administration tasks at programme and module level.
Minimum requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
· A Master of Education degree (NQF level 9) in Accounting Education OR a Master of Commerce (NQF level 9) with Accounting and Economics as areas of specialisation accompanied by an Education qualification.
· A minimum of 3 years’ teaching experience in a higher education institution.
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
· Undertake undergraduate teaching and learning
· Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
· Analytical and problem-solving skills
· Effective time-managing skills
· Good coping skills to work under pressure
· Computer literacy (MS office, knowledgeable about cloud storage)
· Experience in teaching and learning material development
· Ability to teach large classes on both the distance and on-campus mode
· Conducting research
· Competent in a variety of teaching, learning and assessment methodologies
· Ability to use modern platforms (e.g. online interactive whiteboards, eFundi, e-learning, etc.)
· Demonstration of language proficiency in order to function optimally in the various multilingual environments of the NWU
· Ability to partake in supervision of postgraduate students
· Commitment towards furthering own scholarship e.g. publishing articles, conference outputs, furthering own qualifications.

REMUNERATION:
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
