PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Temporary full time Sport Scientist.
Job description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Service Delivery
- Sport Scientist in the Centre for Health and Human Performance that forms part of the delivery service of the NWU Rugby Institute.
Minimum requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- A minimum of 1 year service delivery in sports science projects –university as well as school level.
- An honours degree in Sport Science (NQF level 7)
- Level 2 kinanthropometrist as well as a BLS certification.
FUNCTIONAL / TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS)
- Service provider in Sport Science but able to work in a multi-disciplinary field.
- Teaching and learning or rotation of Sport Science students.
- Worked with specialized equipment: Watt Bike, Cybex, SVT Vision Board, Smart Speed, Inbody, Force Plates, Vo2max, and Powerplates.
- Experience as Sport Scientist in Netball, Cricket and Tennis (Various Events).
- Experience in client evaluation, giving feedback verbally as well as in report format, including recommendations on program prescriptions.
- Computer literate with a working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), emails, online sharing, and drive systems as well as electronic diaries and calendars.
- Experience with cloud-based online database systems, monitoring systems and communication platforms (Zoom or MS teams).
