NORTH-WEST UNIVERSITY (POTCHEFSTROOM CAMPUS)
DEPARTMENT: SCHOOL OF PHYSIOLOGY, NUTRITION AND CONSUMER SCIENCES                                           
VACANCY: TEMPORARY CONTRACT (12 MONTHS)
POSITION: LECTURER 5/8
                                                   
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
·       To implement effective lecturing of Occupational Hygiene modules using a hybrid approach.
·       Show innovation in research and teaching-learning excellence.
·       Enroll/enrolled in a PhD in Occupational Hygiene.
·       Participate in all day-to-day activities of the Occupational Hygiene Group related to teaching and learning and research.

Minimum requirements

·       MHSc or MSc in in Occupational Hygiene.
·       Ability to teach at an institution of higher learning (Occupational Hygiene).
·       Excellent communication skills one-on-one and in front of a group.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
·       Develop coursework and present undergraduate occupational hygiene modules.
·       Provide service to the NWU by contributing to the achievement of its goals.
·       Be willing to undergo, attend and complete training successfully.
 
FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS):
·       Computer literate with specific focus on Windows OS and Office 365.
 
BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
·       Ability to work without supervision and solve problems as the arise.
·       Ability to work within a group.
