Job description

Population and Health Research Entity within the Faculty of Humanities has two Postdoctoral Research Fellowship opportunities for 2025 and hereby invites applications from eligible individuals who obtained a doctoral degree within the last five years (2019-2024). The overall goal of the fellowship is to enhance the research and innovation culture at the University by affording recent doctoral degree holders an opportunity to contribute to knowledge production in different fields of expertise.

The fellowship will be awarded on a competitive basis, considering the applicant's research potential. Postdoctoral Research Fellows are needed in the following specifications:

  • Development Studies
  • Sociology
  • Community engagement

Minimum requirements

  • A completed Doctoral degree within the last five years in Development Studies or Sociology (field of study)
  • The applicant must be below 45 years or younger.

  • A motivation on how the applicant can contribute to the research project outlined above.

REMUNERATION:

The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
