PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Executing the core activities related to higher degree administration at the faculty level- specifically the administration activities of the structured LLM programmes. Support to the Deputy Director responsible for the structured LLM Programmes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Admissions
- Applications -confirm the admission statuses of students enrolling for the LLM structured programmes
2. Administration of LLM structured programmes
- Planning wrt- seminar timetables and examinations
- Communicate the seminar plan per semester with program leaders, lecturers, and students
- Book venues- assistance before/during seminars
- Maintain eFundi sites per module-announcements and uploading of resources
- Coordinate with Deputy Director responsible for the S_LLM programmes
- Ensure effective programme administration
3. Study-guides
- Manage the submission of information regarding study guides
- Complete the SPA portal
4. Assessment administration
- Plan and compile an assessment timetable-assessments and examination dates
- Ensure clear communication regarding the relevant process and dates with program leaders, lecturers, and students
- Uploading of assessments on eFundi
- Arrange invigilators
- Ensure an effective moderation process
5. Capturing of marks
- Capturing of assessment and examination marks on MPS
- Finalise the marks per semester according to prescribed dates
6. Ad hoc tasks
- Any other task assigned by line manager
Minimum requirements
- Grade 12 (NQF level 4).
- A minimum of 1 year experience with adequate knowledge of the higher education sector, knowledge of student lifecycle administrative support systems and processes
ADDED ADVANTAGE:
- A post-matric qualification (NQF level 7).
KEY FUNCTIONAL / TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
- Proven operational knowledge of the management and operations in regard of general academic administration at a higher education level.
- Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
- Demonstration of language proficiency to function optimally in the various multilingual environments of the NWU.
KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
- Strong problem solving, analytical and abstract reasoning skills.
REMUNERATION
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
