Job description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Laboratory work
  • Preparing samples and performing all experiments both in-house and externally
Characterisation and analysis
  • Obtaining quotations and submission of samples for analysis both in-house and external labs
Attendance of meetings   
  • Preparing and providing bi-weekly feedback sessions in-house, while giving monthly feedback sessions to Industrial collaborators on work conducted
Reports
  • Compiling quarterly reports pertaining to the work conducted

Minimum requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Qualification/s
  • BEng / BSc (hons) degree in Chemical Engineering / Chemistry (NQF 8).
Experience/s
  • A minimum of 1 year laboratory experience.
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
  • Report writing skills
  • Oral presentation skills
KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
Interpersonal skills

REMUNERATION
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
