Job description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION 
To fill a vacancy in the School of Professional Studies for the subject group, Education Management & Leadership on the Vanderbijlpark Campus.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate modules.
  • Teaching and supervision:  Postgraduate students.
  • Study guide and material development.
  • Personal research and support to research entity.
  • Initiating and planning of strategic research initiatives.
  • Community service and social responsiveness.

Minimum requirements

  • A PhD (NQF level 10) in Education Management and Leadership.
  • Previously employed in the field of Higher Education (a minimum of 5 years’ experience).
  • Author/co-author of at least 6 research articles in accredited journals since 2019.
  • Involvement in the supervision of master’s (to completion) and doctoral students (in progress).
  • Demonstration of academic leadership.
  • Research skills, interpersonal skills/communication, and computer literacy.

ADDED ADVANTAGES & PREFERENCES:

  • A leader of funded research projects.
  • Involvement in NRF – funded research projects.
  • A proven record of presenting/attending relevant national and international conferences.
  • Experience in teaching research modules at postgraduate level. 

Functional / Technical Competencies (Knowledge and Skills)

  • Demonstrate experience of working in a higher education context
  • Have a proven publication record – especially over the last 5 years
  • Have a proven record of presenting/attending relevant national and international conferences

  • Good interpersonal relations
