Minimum requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- LLB is essential
- An LLM in any field of law is essential
- Admission as an attorney or advocate is desirable
- Publications in accredited journals is desirable
- Proven record of effective postgraduate supervision is desirable
FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
- Preference will be given to candidates with expertise concerning teaching-learning and research in any of the following subject fields: Law of Property and / or Alternative Dispute Resolution However, candidates with expertise in any other field will also be considered.
- Legal language skills
- Computer literacy in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), as well as email, Internet and the electronic retrieval of legal sources
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Language skills in order to function optimally in the different multilingual environments of the NWU.
BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
- Good interpersonal relations
- The ability to work with large groups of people
- The ability to accommodate multiculturalism
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
