Minimum requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  •   A degree in Speech-Language and Hearing Therapy/Audiology or Communication Pathology.
  •   Must be registered with the HPCSA as a Speech-Language Therapist or Speech-Language Therapist and Audiologist.
  •   A minimum of 1 year practical experience as a Speech-Language Therapist or Speech-Language Therapist & Audiologist in a hospital or private practice.
  •   Experience working in a practical, therapeutic context.    
 FUNCTIONAL / TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS)
  •   Ability and experience to work from an evidence-based approach.
  •   Special interest in early communication intervention or alternative and augmentative communication or neurodevelopment disorders or literacy development or feeding disorders or parent coaching.
  •   Ability to deliver therapeutic services to children 0-18 years
  •   Knowledge of and ability to conduct school readiness and concession application assessments.
  •   Computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
  •   Good verbal and written communication skills
  •   Ability to use e-media for teaching, studying and communication
  •   Demonstration of language proficiency in order to function optimally in the various multilingual environments of the NWU
 BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES
  •   Passion for service delivery and an interest in growing the business of the PW.
  •   Ability to work well independently and also in a multi-professional team.
  •   Good time management and ability to work well under considerable pressure.
