PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Generate Quality Control testing results by performing various pharmaceutical analyses, using HPLC, according to specific analytical procedures and a defined Quality Management System
Job description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Performing analyses in HPLC laboratory:
- Performing HPLC analysis
- Mobile phase, diluent /solvent, buffer solution, sample solution and standard solution preparation pH meter calibration and measurements
- Daily temperature, water conductivity and balance verification
- Waste management
- Assistance in root cause analysis of analytical investigations and deviations
2. Administrative tasks:
- Data processing and compiling of documents for data processing Interpret data and report any out of specification and out of trend results to line manager.
- Implementation of quality system
3. Time management:
- Productivity in planning and executing analysis Timely and accurate completion of each analysis Attendance, tardiness and sick leave trends.
4. CPBS Sustainability:
- Promoting quality culture by attending planned training sessions, eliminating quality management system related deficiencies by being actively involved in CAPA and Risk management activities, thereby adding value to the QMS.
- Promoting business and customer service targets by: Providing support to the CPBS as required by Section/Division Managers and QMS requirements.
- Time management and planning (including leave trends, working hours)
- Dedication towards performing of all KPA.
5.Other tasks:
- From time to time, managers can expect staff to perform tasks, not defined specifically in the job description, which will be to the benefit of the general business of the RIIP/CENQAM. The tasks will be related to the general business, and within the competency of the staff member.
- Back-up for data processing and verification.
Minimum requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 with Science or Mathematics as subject (at least 40%).
- A minimum of 1 year experience in a Pharmaceutical analytical lab in the case of a degree or diploma in analytical chemistry.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Pharmaceutical analytical lab in case of Matric (with mathematics & science at least 40%)
FUNCTIONAL / TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS)
- Proven knowledge of HPLC analyses, Proven knowledge of Pharmaceutical Quality Management Systems (GMP, ISO 17025).
- Understanding and correctly executing HPLC methods; Adhere to in-house quality system by following SOP’s and Recognising deviations and analytical errors.
- Ability to do pharmaceutical calculations in order to prepare solutions with set molarity or normality; percentage calculations; basic statistics (average SD and %RSD); and equivalence calculations.
