PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The teaching of undergraduate & postgraduate students, research, and supervision of postgraduate students; organisational & management tasks.
Job description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaching
· Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students
Research
· Conduction research and supervision of postgraduate students.
Organisational and management tasks
· Assist with management tasks.
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
· Latex, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
· Matlab.
KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
· Teamwork.
· Organisational Skills.
· Communication.
· Leadership.
· Trustworthiness & Ethics (academic integrity).
Minimum requirements
· A Master’s degree (NQF Level 9) in Pure Mathematics: Algebra, Typology and Analysis.
· A minimum of 2 years’ undergraduate and postgraduate teaching experience.
ADDED ADVANTAGES:
· A PhD (NQF Level 10) in Pure Mathematics: Algebra, Typology and Analysis.
· Membership with SAMS and AMS.
· Proven research record or Registered for a PhD.
REMUNERATION:
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
