Job description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The successful incumbent is responsible to maintain safety and security on the NWU Vanderbijlpark Campus.

JOB DESCRIPTION
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.     Communication and Stakeholder Relations
2.     Crime Information Management
3.     Operations
4.     Security
5.     Disaster Management
6.     Special events and Emergency Services

Minimum requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Grade 12.
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in the security industry.
  • A valid driver’s License (Code 8/10).
  • Psira Grade C.
 
ADDED ADVANTAGES & PREFERENCES:
  • Paramilitary or security background
 
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
  • Must communicate by radio as well as by telephone.
  • Must complete and maintain a pocketbook and incident book.
  • Reaction service on alarms.
  • Attendance of complaints.
  • Opening and closing of buildings.
  • Traffic and access control on campus.
  • Identification of occupational safety risks.
  • Must provide search query services.

The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
