NORTH-WEST UNIVERSITY: (VANDERBIJLPARK) FACULTY/ DIVISION: FINANCE AND FACILITIES POSITION NUMBER: N002792 VACANCY: SPACE COST RECOVERY OFFICER PEROMNES GRADE: 11 EMPLOYMENT TYPE: PERMANENT PURPOSE OF THE POSITION The appointed candidate will be responsible for space cost recoveries at the NWU, as well as assisting with space management functions on the Vanderbijlpark Campus.
Job description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.    Space Cost Recoveries Model
  • Assist in development of cost recovery model and update annually based on facilities cost.
2.    Calculate and Allocate cost recoveries.
  • Calculate cost recovery for each department.
3.    Space and office allocation
  • Conduct space investigations and space audits to determine utilisation.
4.    Space management service desk support.
  • Complete space and office allocations by means of site audits and the IWMS.
5.    Space investigation and space audits
  • Support space management functions, provide feedback to requesters about status and progress and provide training and guidance to requesters about all business processes.

Minimum requirements

  • Diploma in Facilities Management or related Qualification (NQF6).
  • Three (3) years of experience in facilities management processes.
  • Three (3) years of experience in operational space investigation/project inceptions.
 
ADDED ADVANTAGES & PREFERENCES:
  • Three (3) years of experience in operational space management processes.
 
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
  • Basic cost calculations to determine space cost recoveries.
  • Space management and space utilisation knowledge and skills.
  • Translating basic user requirements into concept drawings, using AutoCAD.
  • Conduct Space Audits.
  • Utilise basic Microsoft Office Skills.
  • Space Investigation.

KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Possess strong communication skills.
  • Physically fit to conduct building audits.
  • Must be able to work under pressure.
