Job description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Facilitate student accounts and bursary related inquiries related to allowance and accommodation payouts for Potchefstroom campus. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Office Administration
  •  Administer corrections and levies on student accounts.
  • Process adjustments and cancellations based on information received.
  • Administration for bursary students.
  • Regularly review credit balances for students not registered and clear old accounts.
  • Accurate record keeping.
Enquiries
  • General enquiries via telephone, email and at counters.
  • Actively attend to generic e-mail account.
  • Respond to enquiries within 48 hours.
  • Assist registered and prospective students with quotations.
  • Assist with all enquiries from external stakeholders with financial and general enquiries.
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with external bursars.
Processing payouts
  • Receive and control requests for completeness including.
  • Evaluate and approve lease agreements.
  • Ensure relevant documentation is included.
  • Evaluate payout requests and prepare payment lists.
  • Prepare and send out communication to students.
  • Capture corrections on accounts.
  • Update daily reports.
Ad-Hoc Tasks
  • Assisting with ad hoc tasks as requested by line manager.
Occupational OHS protocol Health & Safety (OHS)
  • OHS protocol.

Minimum requirements

  • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4).
  •   A minimum of 2 years' financial and/or accounting knowledge.
ADDED ADVANTAGES:
  • An undergrad qualification with finance or accounting subjects.
  • A minimum of 1 year experience within the tertiary education environment with allowance/accommodation payouts.
  • Knowledge of the VSS System.
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Computer Literate in MS Office.
  • Punctual.
  • Good communication skills.
KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
  • Client service orientated.
  • Ability to function independently and as part of a team.
  • Time management and ability to work under pressure
 
REMUNERATION:
