Job description

 Responsibilities:
 
  • Provide support to all e-Learning’s stakeholders on the use of digital technologies, multimedia equipment and multimedia venues.
  • E-learning support and maintenance with regard to the utilisation and operation of e-learning equipment, systems, digital technologies and environments where UDL is involved.
  • Providing digital technology support on behalf of the e-Learning team and environments where UDL e-Learning is involved.
  • Providing e-learning technical support with regard to stakeholders and multimedia users where UDL is involved.
  • Effective query handling and management.
  • Quality assurance and reliable reporting.
  • Assist with the management of e-Learning mailbox, scheduling team tasks and activities, multimedia venue, recording bookings, asset tracking/management and minute taking, when requested.
  • Contributing to the strategic goals for UDL regarding e-Learning presentation.
  • Design/contribute to the development of digital materials and user guides to support end-users on the use of digital technologies.
  • Ad hoc tasks

Minimum requirements

  • Grade 12
  • Two to three years in a computerised learning technology environment providing support to stakeholders.
  • Computer literate and high levels of efficiency in Microsoft Office & Outlook, Microsoft Teams, One Drive and Google Drive.
  • Confidence and ability to interact with individual users and stakeholder groups.
 
 
 Other competency requirements:
 
  • Experience in technical and end-user support within a technology environment.
  • Develop/design digital content for end users to support adoption of digital technologies.
  • Experience working with leaner management systems (LMS).
  • An additional technical diploma or qualification will serve as a recommendation.
  • The ability to use video editing software to edit lecture recordings.
  • The ability to operate and support electronic technology in UDL.
  • Experience in a computerised learning-technology environment and the ability to use information technology within open-distance learning.
  • The ability to function effectively under pressure and as part of a team.
  • Good interpersonal relations, communication skills and a positive client-service orientation
  • Demonstration of language proficiency in order to function optimally in various environments at the NWU.
  • Knowledge of the operations of UDL Teaching and Learning.
  • Proven ability to effectively handle queries and liaise with students, lecturers, faculties and other stakeholders.


The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
