Job description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To teach at Undergraduate level and to actively engage in research

JOB DESCRIPTION
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaching
  • Teaching undergraduate modules.
  • Study guide and material development.
Research
  • Research publications.
  • Support of research entity
Community Engagement
  •  Involvement in community engagement programmes.

Minimum requirements

Senior Lecturer:

  • A PhD in Education (Curriculum studies) (NQF 10).
  • A minimum of 5 years’ active involvement and  participation in teaching and learning in higher education.
  • Leadership experience (active academic leadership and/or involvement in school and faculty committees).
  • Experience in Work Integrated Learning (involvement in WIL and teaching and/or research activities at community level).
  • Completed supervision of at least one master’s degree student.
  • At least two published accredited publications.

Lecturer:

  • A Master’s degree in Education (Curriculum Studies) (NQF 9).
  • A minimum of 2 years’ active involvement and  participation in teaching and learning at school level.

KEY FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES:

  • Have a proven record of teaching and learning.

KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:

  • Team worker.
  • Good interpersonal relations
