Job description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.     ADMINISTRATION
  • Responsible for meeting administration and documentation of SDL Exco, strategic planning, and annual meetings (Agendas, minutes, and task lists); Record keeping and management (All Unit documentation, personalia, membership list, minutes)
2.     COMMUNICATION AND LIASON WITH STAKEHOLDERS
  • Scheduling and organising meetings, discourses, workshops, retreats, and colloquiums.
  • Communication with presenters, guests, new members, and researchers.
  • Announcements in the Unit
 
3.     MARKETING AND CONFERENCE ORGANISATION
  • Website development and social media footprint of the Unit.
  • Compile brochures, pamphlets, posters, banners, and other marketing materials.
  • Responsible for news from the Unit in the Feel-Good Friday Faculty news.
  • Support for the local organising committee of the annual SDL conference (Web registration and communication).
 
4.     COMPILE ANNUAL REPORT
  • Gathering documentation from different stakeholders.

Minimum requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Post-matric diploma or advanced certificate on at least NQF level 6 in Administration/web design / social media development.
  • 2 Years’ experience in the use of computer software (MS Office) and web design in higher education.
  • 2 Years’ experience in taking of minutes, compiling reports and minute keeping in higher education.
 
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
 
  • Compiling reports and minute keeping in higher education.
  • Knowledge of meeting procedures.
  • Be able to f unction in a multilingual environment (speak and write).
  • Ability to develop and maintain websites and social media platforms.
 
KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good people skills and client service orientation.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Good time management.
