The Faculty of Engineering is looking for Postdoctoral Fellows.

Minimum requirements


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Relevant PhD degree obtained within five years before the appointment as a postdoctoral fellow.
 
1.     Renewable Energy
The Renewable Energy research group within the School of Industrial Engineering is looking for qualified candidates to apply for a post-doctoral fellow position. We are seeking a highly motivated post-doctoral researcher to aid in the development of techno-econometric models in terms of energy mix incorporating different energy sources such as bioenergy, solar, wind, etc. The position will involve the application of feasibility studies as well as aid in the development, testing, and evaluation of the different energy processes and technologies through simulation modelling and/or pilot plant development.
Requirements & skills:
  • Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering
  • Record of publications
  • Excellent communications skills and team work ability.
 
2.     SMART Enterprises
A post-doctoral fellow position is available within the School of Industrial Engineering’s SMART Enterprises research area. The prospective candidate must be able to independently conduct research, document and publish within the SMART Research Framework, The position involves the develop investigating frameworks/models to drive the adoption of “SMART” technologies to improve competitive advantages in South African based organizations.

  • Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering or relevant
  • Record of publications
  • Excellent communications skills and team work ability.
