PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The applicant will engage in teaching and learning, in research supervision of Honours, Masters and/or PHD students and in research and writing publications within Computer Science fields.

KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
· Teaching of programming and / or Decision Support Systems at graduate and / or postgraduate level.
· Ability to provide guidance in master’s and PhD degree dissertations.
· Maintaining good interpersonal relations and a client-service orientation.
· Conduct independent and co-operative research within the focus areas of the School and research centre.
· Demonstration of language proficiency in order to function optimally (writing and verbally) in the various multilingual environments of the NWU – on all levels (students, colleagues and management).
ADDED ADVANTAGES & PREFERENCES:
· A proven track record of management experience.
· Involvement in the community with subject related projects.
Minimum requirements
· PhD in Computer Science (senior lecturer) or Masters In Computer Science (lecturer).
· Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate experience at a university institution (senior lecturer essential, lecturer desirable).
· Experience in supervision of Honours, Masters and PhD students (desirable).
· A proven research track record within Computer Science fields (senior lecturer essential, lecturer desirable).
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
