Job description
Purpose of the position:
Provide an innovative, dynamic and collaborative library service to the academic enterprise. By acquiring information resources as recommended by the academic community in support of teaching, learning and research.
Responsibilities:
· Receive and process book recommendations.
· Create orders for processing by the Librarian.
· Pre-cataloguing of books.
· Process credit card and direct orders.
· Problem-solving and communication with stakeholders.
· Monitor funds for facilities.
· Handling invoices and processing on the library management system.
· Process donations of information resources.
· Reporting and statistics.
· Organise virtual and physical book exhibitions.
· Undertaking projects when necessary.
Minimum requirements
· Grade 12.
· A B.Bibl or B.Inf- or any Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) plus Post-Graduate Diploma in Library and Information Science (LIS)
· A minimum of 3 years’ work experience in Acquisitions.
· LIASA Membership.
Other competency requirements:
· Computer literacy (MS Office, Outlook and Internet).
· Knowledge of Acquisitions modules on a library management system.
· Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
· Problem Solving Skills
· Numerical Skills
· Ability to work independently and in a team.
· Accuracy
· Financial Accuracy and Accountability
TOTAL REMUNERATION PACKAGE: Market-related
