Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaching and Learning:
  • Teaching of undergraduate Setswana modules, invigilation and marking of relevant assessments.

Minimum requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • A BA Honours degree in Setswana with a focus on linguistics, literature and language teaching.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in teaching and/or tutoring of undergraduate modules in Setswana.
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
  • Ability to teach and assess Setswana undergraduate module content covering oral and compositional competence at first, second and third-year level respectively.
  • Ability and willingness to consult with students about course content.
  • Ability and willingness to do in-person teaching at the Potchefstroom campus during scheduled class times.
  • Excellent level of computer literacy and willingness to learn to use the online learning management system (eFundi).
  • Ability to manage assessment marks in a spread sheet.
  • Excellent communication skills.
KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
  • Excellent administrative and organising ability.
  • Ability and willingness to work as part of the teaching team on the Potchefstroom campus.
  • Adherence to strict deadlines.
Remuneration:
