PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To fill a vacancy in the school, for the subject group Curriculum Studies
JOB DESCRIPTION
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Teaching undergraduate modules
2. Teaching and supervision: Postgraduate
3. Research publications
4. Community service
5. Study guide and material development
6. Support of research entity
7. Initiating and planning of strategic research initiatives
Minimum requirements
· A PhD (NQF 10) in Comparative & International Education.
· A minimum of 5 years’ experience in teaching in the relevant field in the higher education environment.
· Be an author/co-author of at least 5 research articles in accredited journals since 2020
· Completed supervision of at least 1 master’s and 1 doctoral student.
ADDED ADVANTAGES & PREFERENCES:
· Leader of funded research projects.
· Involvement in NRF – funded research projects.
· Have a proven publication record for over 5 years.
· Have a proven record of presenting and attending relevant national and international conferences
KEY FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
· Demonstrate recent experience of working and teaching in a higher education context.
· Demonstrate recent experience in publishing accredited research.
· Demonstrate recent experience in supervising post-graduate students to completion.
· Demonstrate recent experience of involvement in Community Engagement.
BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
· Good interpersonal skills
· Ability to work in a team
REMUNERATION
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy
guidelines.
