PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Under general supervision, perform a variety of clerical/administrative duties for one or more organisational entity to assist the smooth running of the administration and the office in general.

Minimum requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 (NQF Level)
- Formal training in MS Office, internet, Oracle, Various applicable systems (E.g. management information system).
- Secretarial /Administrative certificate or diploma (NQF 5) is desirable.
- Five (5) years secretarial and administrative experience in general office and meeting administration, organisation and management, including record management.
- Five (5) years’ experience executing the knowledge and skills of specific office software programs.
- Five (5) years Knowledge of principles for providing customer and personal service.
- Five (5) Years’ experience executing the knowledge of the structure and content of the appropriate language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar.
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
- Utilize proper grammar, punctuation, spelling and correct arrangement of information.
- Ability to utilize various software programmes for word processing and spreadsheets.
- Perform basic mathematical operations with accuracy.
- Communicate effectively with students, visitors and staff.
- Demonstration of language proficiency on order to function optimally in the various multilingual environment of the NWU.
KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
- Ability to prioritise ongoing administrative tasks and manage time well.
- Actively look for ways to help staff and clients
- Attention detail
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
