PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Management of IT-related and administrative issues within the School of Computer Science and Information Systems.
Job description
1. STUDENT SUPPORT
· Ensuring the availability of hardware & software,
· Managing the replacement and maintenance of computers in SCSIS laboratory
2. STAFF SUPPORT
· Managing the support for hardware & software issues, computer and audio-visual support, collaborating with campus services
3. MANAGEMENT
· Managing and supporting the Information Technologist to ensure smooth operation of computer support
4. FINANCIAL SUPPORT
· Acquire new computer, software, printers & computer related equipment as needed
5. ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT
· Managing other activities in the School as needed, e.eg Distance programme offered by the School
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
· Solid administrative skills
· Problem solving skills
· Excellent communication and liaison skills with regards to internal and external enquiries
· Ability to compile documents for audit purposes
· Ability to work under pressure and reach deadlines
KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
· Sound interpersonal relationship skills
· Integrity and proven record of instilling trust when managing sub-ordinates

Minimum requirements
· BSc Honours in Computer Science and Information Systems or relevant related subject
