Stock control, Stock rotation, Monthly stock take, variance reports, capturing of issued stock on system.
Job description

KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
·       A Valid driver’s licence
·       Basic accounting skill
·       Experience in stock taking, issuing and control
·       Computer literate
 
KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
·       Good interpersonal relations
·       Self – motivation and sound judgement
·       The ability to apply effective time management
·       The ability to do physical work
·       Demonstration of language proficiency to function in the various multilingual environments of the NWU

Minimum requirements

·       Grade 12 with Accounting as a subject
·       2 Years’ experience in food and beverage industry (Receiving of stock, stock control, stock taking, issuing of stock)


JOB DESCRIPTION
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.      Administrative
·         Receipt and issuing of stock for kitchen and liquor cellar
·         Ensuring delivered stock is captured correctly on invoices
·         Capturing of issued stock physically and on stock systems
·         Ensuring that administrative processes are current and up to date
·         Submit invoices daily to Senior Administrative Assistant
·         Capture Fridge and Freezer temperature readings 4 times daily
·         Ongoing communication with current and new suppliers to ensure the best product at the best price
·         Weekly updating cost of stock in relation to menu items, pricing and communicating with Head Chef in this regard

 
2.      Stock Control  
·         Ensuring delivered stock is dated and meet requirements according to HACAP standards
·         Stock rotation as per FIFO
·         Ensuring that stock levels are always adequate
·         Stock must be date marked and expired stock dispose of according to set regulations
·         Physical issuing of stock daily as per instruction by Head Chef or Senior Shift Managers
·         Key control of storerooms – when not on duty
 

3.      Stock taking                   
·         Weekly stocktake of storerooms
·         Responsible for monthly stocktaking in conjunction with Head Chef and Snr Shift Manager of storerooms
·         Suppling of stock counts to Snr Administrative Assistant
·         Explanation of stock variances logically
 
 
4.      Liaison
·         Internal with Head Chef, Snr Shift managers, Snr Administrative Assistant
·         External – with suppliers regarding prices, orders, and quality products
 
5.      Personal Development   
·         Attending relevant courses
 
       
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
