Purpose of the position: Teaching and Learning; research and consultation services within the Subject Group Statistics.
Job description

Minimum requirements
- Ph.D. in Mathematical Statistics or a closely related field.
- Seven (7) years experience presenting modules in undergraduate education at university level.
- Proven research track record, publishing papers in Mathematical Statistics (or related) journals.
- Proven track record of successfully supervising Masters or Ph.D. students; must have delivered at least 1 Masters student in Mathematical Statistics or related field.
Recommended competencies:
- Five (5) years experience presenting modules in postgraduate education at university level.
- Research interest aligned with those of the subject group.
- Proven track record of successfully supervising Masters or Ph.D. students; completed Ph.D. supervision or currently supervising at Ph.D. level.
Essential Competencies
Functional/Technical competencies (knowledge and skills)
- Offer undergraduate and graduate Statistics modules.
- Handle large undergraduate classes.
- Deal with course development and administrative tasks.
- Communicate well, both verbally and in writing.
- Provide postgraduate supervision.
- Conduct independent research and exhibit a proven research record.
- Handle statistical consultations.
Behavioural competencies
- Be able to work independently.
- Be able to work as part of a team.
- Possess good people skill.
