JOB DESCRIPTION
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Research
o Scholarly guidance, focused high-level research, mentoring of colleagues. Initiating and leading research projects. Active involvement in the Edulead research niche area
2. Teaching and Supervision
o Post Graduate supervision
3. Community Engagement
o Involvement in community engagement programmes
Minimum requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
· Qualification:
o PhD in any Education related discipline for both positions
· Experience:
o Extensive involvement in research for both positions
o Five years teaching experience in Higher education (Faculty/School of Education) for both positions
o Experience in teaching research modules at BEdHons level for associate professor position
o Completed supervision of masters as well as PhD students for both positions
o Proven research track record, including a high volume of articles in accredited international journals for the professor position and a high volume of accredited articles in at least national journals for the associate professor position
o Member of completed funded research projects for the professor position
o NRF rating a strong recommendation for the professor position
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
o Proven Publication record
o Proven Research skills
o Proven record of presenting/attending relevant National and International Conferences
o Postgraduate supervision
KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
o Team worker
o Good Interpersonal Relations
o High level of professional and ethical conduct.
o Good analytical abilities and innovative thinking, as well as the ability to be self-driven.
o Demonstration of language proficiency to function optimally in the various functionally multilingual environment of the NWU.
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
