NORTH-WEST UNIVERSITY (POTCHEFTSROOM CAMPUS) FACULTY: HEALTH SCIENCES DEPARTMENT: CENTRE FOR HEALTH & HUMAN PERFORMANCE VACANCY: COUNSELLING INTERN PSYCHOLOGIST PEROMNES NUMBER: 9 POSITION NUMBER: TB00326 (PREVIOUSLY PF001933 & PF001934) FIXED-TERM APPOINTMENT PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: The appointed intern psychologist will contribute to the clinical practice within the IPW and complete an internship as required by the HPCSA under supervision of a permanent counselling psychologist.

• Psychological assessment of clients using HPCSA recognized psychometric instruments.
• Ability to conduct case presentations and multi-disciplinary group discussions.
•  Attendance of individual and group supervision on a weekly basis.
• Client or case relevant research (i.e. diagnostic or therapeutic information) and theoretical conceptualization.
•  Administrative responsibilities
• Demonstration of language proficiency in order to function optimally in the various multilingual environments of the NWU.
• The ability to work well independently and also in a team.

•   MA / MSc Counselling Psychology
•   Registration with HPCSA as an Intern Psychologist
•  Counselling skills at Psychology Masters level (1 year)

•  Psychometric and Psychological Assessment of children, adolescents and adults)
