PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Lecturing within the Geography sphere with the special focus in Physical Geography with specialisation in Geomorphology/Fluvial Geomorpholog
Job description
JOB DESCRIPTION
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Teach undergraduate and Honours modules in Physical Geography
· Develop new modules and adapt content of existing modules to keep up with current trends in the field
· Attract and supervise MSc and PhD students
· Obtain research funds and manage research projects
· Produce high quality, accredited and peer-reviewed research outputs
· Participate in community engagement
· General administrative tasks
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

Minimum requirements
· PhD in Geography (special focus Physical Geography with specialisation in Geomorphology/Fluvial Geomorphology)
· 5 years teaching and research experience in a tertiary education environment
· Consistent publication track record in high impact journals in the field of Physical Geography
· External research funding track record
· Leadership expertise in research
· Evidence of successful student supervision of at least 2 PhD/MSc students
