KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
- Preference will be given to candidates with expertise concerning teaching-learning and research. Candidates with expertise in any other field will be considered.
- Legal language skills
- Computer literacy in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), as well as email, Internet, and the electronic retrieval of legal sources. The ability to / experience in online teaching will be an advantage.
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Language skills in order to function optimally in the different multilingual environments of the NWU.
- Good interpersonal relations
KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
- Good interpersonal relations
- The ability to work with large groups of people

The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.

Minimum requirements
Senior Lecturer
- LLB
- An LLD in any field in law or a PhD/DPhil in Law OR an LL M plus 5 years' experience in private practice
- Admission as an attorney or an advocate (desirable) or experience in legal practice
- 3 to 5 Years’ experience in academia
- Publications in accredited journals
- Proven record of effective post-graduate supervision
Associate Professor
- An LLD in any field in law or a PhD/DPhil in Law
- Admission as an attorney or an advocate (desirable) or 3 years’ experience in legal practice
- 5 to 8 Years’ experience in academia
- Publications in accredited journals
- Proven record of effective post-graduate supervision
