Job description
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Ensuring the day to day running and maintenance of the marks processing system. Receiving, storage and safe keeping of assessment question papers and materials. Allocation of venues and related tasks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Marks processing
- Co-ordinate marks processing system, report errors, finalise marks on system, train users on the marks processing system
2. Assisting with the logistics of assessments and examinations
- Assist with the receiving, copying and safekeeping of assessment- and examination papers.
3. Venue Bookings
- Allocation of venues and training of users on venue booking system.
- Ensuring all venues adhere to assessment protocols
4. Ad Hoc Task
- Any other task assigned by Manager
Minimum requirements
- Grade 12 (essential)
- Advance Certificate (Desirable)
FUNCTIONAL EXPERIENCE
- 2 years Experience of appropriate administrative systems used at tertiary institutions (Essential)
- 2 years Knowledge of examination- rules, securities and processes (Essential)
Functional & Technical competencies:
- In depth knowledge of the VSS System, IWMS venue booking systems, or another system utilized by other tertiary institutions
- Understand and operate administrative systems very well
- Exceptional planning and report writing skills
- Excellent knowledge of NWU and Higher Health requirements pertaining to assessments and invigilation
Behavioral Competencies:
- Good interpersonal & intercultural skills
- Demonstrate language proficiency
- Good problem solving skills
- Ability to function well as part of team
- Excellent communication skills
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
