FIXED-TERM APPOINTMENT
Purpose of the position: Teaching of practical skill components pertaining to the B.Pharm curriculum. Management of the clinical pharmacy simulation laboratories.

Functional/Technical competencies (Knowledge and Skills)
· Extensive knowledge of the principles of basic and advanced clinical skills
· Computer literacy
· Ability to perform as a leader in training programmes for undergraduate students
Behavioural Competencies
· Ability to perform independently, systematically, accurately and problem solving.
· Ability to perform under pressure.
· Ability to perform on different levels internally and externally.
· Ability to build and maintain healthy relationships with students and colleagues.
Minimum requirements
· ALS (Advanced Life Support) in Emergency Medicine
· Registrations with Health Professions Council of South Africa; Resuscitation Council South Africa (RCSA)
· 5 Years’ evidence in experience in pre-hospital services
· 3 Years evidence of experience in lecturing

Responsibilities:
- Undergraduate Teaching – Teaching & learning in the undergraduate BPharm-programme.
- Simulation training - Management of the training of students in simulation facilities to facilitate students with obtaining clinical skills. Supervision in simulation facilities in order to enable students to practice clinical skills
- Administration of visits to clinical facilities - Coordinating with the Joint Management Committee as established per Memorandum of Agreement with the North-West Department of Health. Training of preceptors as identified by the North-WestDepartment of Health. Coordinating with clinics, schools, hospitals and community pharmacies to facilitate visits of students to these facilities. Administration of student groups for visits to clinical facilities.
