- Management and organisation of Special Collections
- Create and maintain LibGuides
- Liaison with academic staff and researchers
- Administrative duties
- Collection building regarding sources (printed and electronic)

Minimum requirements
- B LIS, BINF or B degree with Post graduate diploma in LIS.
- At least 3 years of service to academic users on different levels.
- LIASA Membership.
- Language proficiency in order to function optimally in various multilingual environments of the NWU and resources of the Special Collection.
Other competency requirements
- Knowledge of printed and electronic sources as well as the search logic thereof
- Knowledge and experience in cataloguing, classification and indexing
- Advanced level of computer literacy with sound knowledge of MS Office, Groupwise and web technology
- Knowledge of the latest developments regarding information technology, especially digitization
- Knowledge of and insight into the academic structure and research activities on the campus
- Research and analytical skills
- The ability to liaise with assigned academic departments on all library matters
- Strong inclination towards client services
- Good judgement and decision making skills
Recommendation
Additional Information Sciences qualifications in Museum / Archival / Digitization
Two years of service in different departments of an academic library desirable including Museum or Archive
