Job description

        Responsibilities:
1.      Timetables and Assessments staff management
  • Management of the staff within the Timetables and Assessments department by planning, co-ordinating and implementing processes to ensure delivery of required outputs at required times in an accurate and integrity assured manner.
2.      Staff management within the department:
  • Planning, co-ordinating, and monitoring of the processes and outputs of the Timetables and Assessment department. Apply very sound knowledge of rules, policies, and integrity requirements pertinent to the timetable and assessment processes of the NWU to ensure on time delivery of timetables and integrity insured assessments are provided.
3.      Meetings :
  • Schedule meetings with Timetables and assessment staff, attend meetings pertaining to all timetables and assessments.
4.      Reporting:
  •  Provide written reports on matters pertaining to timetables and assessments when required
5.      Ad hoc tasks:
  • Performing any ad hoc directives from the director SALA on PC and overseeing director SALA: Timetables and Assessments as may be required form time to time.


Minimum requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree or Advanced diploma.
  • 5 year(s) experience of timetables and assessment processes and systems at Tertiary institutions.
  • 5 year(s) management experience through working in a University environment and knowledge of university processes.

Functional/Technical Competencies (Knowledge and Skills)
  • In depth knowledge of the VSS System or another system utilised by other tertiary institutions
  • Excellent knowledge of timetables and assessment processes in a tertiary environment.
  • Well versed in utilisation of Microsoft Excel to generate data and interpret data.
  • Excellent knowledge of integrity requirements pertaining to assessments.
  • Excellent knowledge of all processes involved in administering of assessments in tertiary institutions.
Behavioural Competencies
  • Must be punctual and time driven.
  • Must be able to co-ordinate and manage departmental functions and staff.
  • Need strong leadership- and problem-solving skills.
  • Requires good interpersonal- and communication skills.
