Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
⦁ Operational duties 
⦁ Ensuring fitness equipment is kept clean and free‐weights and other fitness equipment is stored away correctly when not in use.
⦁ Identify equipment in need of service and communicates the problem to the supervisor via proper channels.
⦁ Opening and closing of the HPI gymnasium as per operational requirements.
⦁ Ensuring visitors adhere to the NWU / HPI policies procedures regarding facility use and behaviour.
⦁ Administrative duties 
⦁ Completing various checklists and reports as required to ensure professional daily operations of the NWU HPI.
⦁ Adhering to all NWU policies & procedures.
⦁ Collection and distribution of registration forms as required
⦁ OHS
⦁ Adhering to all health and safety policies and procedures

Minimum requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • One (1) year experience in gymnasium environment is essential.

KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
  • Excellent communication ‐ high standard of spoken and written English.
  • Excellent time management skills and reliable.
  • Ability to work under pressure and use own initiative.
  • Knowledge of working within a fitness facility.
  • Have own reliable transport to and from NWU HPI gymnasium.

KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
  • Self‐motivated.
  • Willingness and ability to assist other assistants to cover shifts.
  • Willingness and ability to work shifts (early morning / evenings).

The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
