Job description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
1.      RESEARCH
·       Preparation and delivery of lectures and seminars
·       Publishing of research articles
 
2.      TEACHING
·       Conducting lectures, tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops and student field excursions 
 
3.      DEVELOPMENT AND SUPERVISION
·       Initiation and development of subject material
 
4.      ADMINISTRATION
·       Administering the submission of research proposals, appointment of moderators and examiners, etc.
 
5.      DEVELOPMENT OF COURSE MATERIAL
·       Supervision of Honours students

Minimum requirements

·       Honours in Hydrology or Geohydrology
·       Membership with the SACNASP- desirable
·       2 years’ experience in teaching experience
 
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
·       Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
·       Excellent skills in Hydrology or Geohydrology modelling
·       Mining process knowledge
 
KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
·         Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
·         Ability to work in a multicultural environment
·         Efficient time management skills, with respect for teaching, research and administration
