Job description
Purpose of the position:
Maintenance of buildings within a designated group of facilities. This include but not limited to the following: buildings, structural elements, building finishes (fixed and fittings), building services and electrical.
Responsibilities:
- Facilities Management (Reactive and planned Maintenance)-Develop and interpret planned maintenance programs and Processes for both Reactive and Planned Maintenance. Routine inspections of quality of work and service delivery.
- Condition Based and Macro Maintenance-Condition Based Maintenance on all University Off-campus properties is being done that will inform Macro Maintenance
- Liaison and communication (Stakeholder Management)- Liaison with internal and external client
- Contract Management-Monitoring and Utilization of contracts for all the services as measured against contractual agreements
- Assigning maintenance work to maintenance Contractors-Work assigned in accordance with university procurement policies and departmental procedure on IWWS
- Ensure safe working Environment-Ensure that all maintenance work is carried out in accordance with OHS standards and legal safety requirements
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.

Minimum requirements
- N5(NQF LEVEL 05) with Electrical Knowledge and building maintenance experience, Qualified Artisan preferred in relevance to facilities maintenance
- 5 years’ technical experience related to electrical and building maintenance is essential
