Minimum requirements

·       Degree/National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry or Grade 12 (Mathematics and Physical Sciences at least 40%)
·       5 Years’ experience in Quality Management Systems (ISO17025, GMP, GCP)
·       3 Years’ experience in Pharmaceutical analytical lab in the case of a degree or diploma in analytical chemistry
·       5 Years’ experience in Pharmaceutical analytical lab in case of Matric (with mathematics and science at least 40%)


Responsibilities:
1.     HPLC analysis
·        Perform HPLC analyses
·       Comprehension of GMP and SANAS technical requirements
·       Mobile phase, diluent/solvent, buffer solution, sample solution and standard solution preparation
·       Perform verification of analytical planning and HPLC set-up (i.e. method, sequence and instrument parameters)
·       pH meter calibration and measurements
·       Daily temperature, water conductivity and balance verification
·       Waste management
·       Assistance in root cause analysis of analytical investigations
·       Report failures and deviations immediately to compliance officer or Section Head
·       Laboratory monitoring and good housekeeping
·       Promoting responsible and safe working practices
·       Actively working towards obtaining SANAS HPLC Technical Signatory status within 6 months of appointment (part of probation requirements)
 
2.     Administrative Tasks
·       Perform method, sequence and instrument verification checks for analysis before analysis commence
·       Data processing and compiling of documents for data processing
·       Interpret data and report any out of specifications, out of trends to compliance officer or Section Head
·       Implementation of the quality management system

3.     CPBS Sustainability
·       Promoting quality culture by attending planned training sessions, eliminating quality management system related deficiencies by being actively involved in Analytical Investigations, CAPA and Risk Management activities and thereby adding value to the QMS
·       Time management and planning (including leave trends, working hours)
·       Dedication towards performing of KPA
·       Providing support to the CPBS as required by Section/Division Heads and QMS requirements
 
4.     Other Tasks
·       Act as deputy Senior Compliance Officer
·       From time to time, managers can expect staff to perform tasks, not defined specifically in the job description, that will be to the benefit of the general business of the RIIP/CENQAM. The tasks will be related to the general business, and within the competency of the staff member
