PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To do administrative duties in the CHM laboratories as well as biological sample reception.
Job description
JOB DESCRIPTION
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Biological sample reception
· Logging of information on the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
· Aliquoting of biological samples
· General Administrative tasks
· Ad hoc
Minimum requirements
· Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent
· 2 years’ proven competence in Microsoft Office
· Proven experience with receiving and handling biological samples
· 2 years’ experience working with a LIMS system
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
· Awareness of good laboratory practices
· Awareness of International Standard (ISO 17025 / ISO15189)
KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
· Proven ability to work in a multicultural environment
· Good communication skills
· Ability to function effectively under pressure
