Job description
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To fill a vacancy in the School of Professional Studies for the subject group, Education Law on the Vanderbijlpark Campus.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Research
1. Research
- Scholarly guidance, innovation and initiation with regard to research in Education Law.
2. Teaching
- Teaching modules in Education Law.
- Teaching at all levels in higher education.
- Supervising master’s and PhD students.
3. Community Engagement
- Initiating and participation community engagement projects.
4. Development
- Initiating research projects.
- Involvement in community engagement programme.
Minimum requirements
- A PhD in Education Law or Policy studies (NQF Level 10).
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the field of higher education.
- Author/co-author of at least 5 research articles in accredited journals since 2021.
- Supervised Masters and Doctoral students to completion with a minimum of 3 Masters’ and 1 PhD students.
- Have proven teaching experience in Education Law & Policy studies.
- Involvement in community engagement projects.
ADDED ADVANTAGE & PREFERENCE:
- Research skills, interpersonal skills/communication and computer literacy.
- Involvement in funded research projects.
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
- Must be proficient in the following:
- Have a proven publication record.
- Have a proven record of presenting/attending relevant national and international conferences.
- Have proven record of successful supervision.
- Have proven record of community engagement.
- Experience of working in a higher education context.
KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
- Team worker.
- Good interpersonal relations.
- Research skills.
REMUNERATION:
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
